At the July meeting the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) board of directors voted to expand its list of North American directors from 36 to 38 with one new Canadian newspaper publisher and advertiser or ad agency representative. Shelagh Stoneham, vice president brand and marketing communications at Rogers Communications Inc., will represent Canadian advertisers.
A meeting with the ABC Canada Board saw Gordon Fisher, president of the National Post and executive vice president, Eastern Canada, Postmedia Network; and Jocelyn Poirier, president, TVA Publications Inc., join the committee.
ABC also announced it would freeze audit rates and prices in 2011, making it the fourth consecutive year in which rates will remain unchanged. In addition, ABC agreed to conduct another advisory vote of its Canadian and U.S. member newspapers, asking for input on new eligibility standards currently under consideration for daily and weekly newspapers.
